Adopting from Compassion
First
Most animals in the Compassion First system
are here by way of rescue from unfavorable, often horrible, conditions. The
goal is to give them a better life by matching them with caring new owners. To
accomplish this, each person interested in adopting an animal is asked to
complete a brief adoption application.
If that application is approved, the adopter
enters into a legally binding contract with Compassion First, agreeing to
provide the animal with a good home, maintain the animal's vaccinations, and
meet any health needs that may arise. Compassion First does not sell animals,
but there is usually an adoption fee that must be paid. These reasonable fees
help pay the expenses involved in helping so many animals.
If you're interested in adopting a pet-type animal,
like a dog or cat,
the first step is to complete and submit an Adoption Application. The best way
to do this is via our online application.
If you prefer to work with printed documents, however, you may download and
print the application from the links on the right.
If you're interested in adopting a horse,
download, print, and complete the

If you've already been approved to adopt a
horse, download, print, complete, and sign the
Horse Provisional
Adoption Contract.
